Prince Maurice of Orange and of Nassau, after whom Constance Le Prince Maurice is named, was indeed the one who pioneered the discovery of those ‘divine essences’, in the Indian Ocean. One of the most symbolic of all spices – nutmeg – has been chosen to be the hotel’s logo.

There are 76 spacious Junior Suites are located in one and two storey thatched units, with balcony or patio and view of the gardens, the beaches or set on stilts above a natural fish reserve (no swimming allowed). The decoration of the suites blend harmoniously with the beauty of the environment – the use of wood, stone and thatch gives an exclusive charm, together with total tranquillity and refined elegance. All suites are air-conditioned and equipped with satellite television, CD/DVD-player, wireless Internet access, mini-bar, individual safes and telephone with voicemail facility. The suites feature massive wood furniture: their colours reflect the ‘spice route theme’ touch of the hotel. Bedroom amenities are of a quality and style unique to Constance Le Prince Maurice. Twelve Senior Suites additionally feature a separate living room, with courtyard sunken bath and garden shower – 9 have a private pool while 3 are situated over the ‘barachois’. The Princely Suite offers privacy combining one Senior Suite and two Junior Suites and a private pool.

L’Archipel Restaurant:

Dining options include L’ Archipel Restaurant, located in the main building, overlooking the pool and the beach. L’Archipel offers an elegant ambience and features an à la carte menu with light, spicy flavoured gourmet food. A new Asian Corner has been introduced within the restaurant and on four nights a week will serve a fantastic selection of Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Indonesian and Indian cuisine.

Le Barachois:

Le Barachois enjoys a spectacular setting on the lagoon with a panoramic view of the mountain range. Its entrance, via a snaking gangplank through the mangrove trees, adds a magic spell to the place. This floating restaurant, unique on the island, is open for dinner and offers daily specials including grills, seafood and Mauritian delicacies.

The Beach Deck:

The Beach Deck is situated on a wooden deck near the beach. All the furniture is made of wrought iron. The Beach Deck offers an à la carte lunch menu and hosts special events on specific evenings.

The Links Championship Golf Course, designed by Rodney Wright and Peter Allis, opened in November 2002. This 18-hole links course was conceived as a result of the success and demands encountered by Constance Hotels’ first course, The Legend. The Links sits beneath the clubhouse which faces the setting sun. The course measures 5,942 m and has a par of 71. Equipped with a practice fairway, this 18-hole course is set in a location which seems to have been naturally created for the purpose.
